At the event, participants proudly looked back on the University’s historical traditions and celebrated its achievements throughout 60 years of building and development.
UFBA traces its origins to training institutions under the Ministry of Finance and the State Committee for Pricing, established in 1965 with the mission of training human resources for the country’s finance and pricing sectors. From its beginnings as the School of Finance - Accounting (1965) and the School for Pricing Cadres (1967), it was later upgraded to the Central School of Pricing (1977), the College of Business Administration (1996), and the College of Finance – Accounting I (2003), which merged into the College of Finance – Business Administration (2005). By Decision No. 1320/QD-TTg dated September 18, 2012, the Prime Minister approved its upgrade to become the University of Finance and Business Administration as it is today.
Throughout its development, the University has always focused on training to meet the country’s human resource demands. From just a few dozen students in its first class, enrolment grew to 1,500 students per intake between 2007–2010, with a scale reaching 11,000 students across various training systems, both on and off campus. At present, the University admits about 1,000 students annually, maintaining a training scale of around 4,000 students. Its organizational structure now includes 24 units: 09 faculties, 08 offices, 01 committee, 01 station, and 05 centers. From its traditional majors in accounting, finance, and pricing management, UFBA has expanded to offer seven undergraduate majors (Accounting, Auditing, Finance–Banking, Business Administration, Economics, International Business, and Management Information Systems) and one master’s program in Finance–Banking.
Despite challenges through different periods of training at the intermediate, college, and university levels, the University has always remained steadfast in upholding training quality and preserving the values and traditions that form its brand. Its curricula are regularly reviewed, updated, and supplemented to meet practical needs, and UFBA’s training quality has been highly recognized by both society and the Ministry of Finance. More than 80% of graduates secure employment within the first year. Scientific research activities have also received increasing attention and development.
