Graduation Thesis Defence Ceremony for Full-Time Undergraduate Students – Cohort K9 (Academic Year 2021–2025)

In line with Plan No. 04/KH-ĐHTCQTKD dated January 3, 2025, issued by the Board of Management, on the morning of February 15, 2025, UFBA held the opening ceremony for the graduation thesis defence of Cohort K9 (Academic Year 2021–2025).

Attending the ceremony were Distinguished Teacher, Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – Secretary of the Party Committee, UFBA President; Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Diep – Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee, UFBA Vice President; Dr. Dao Van Tu – UFBA Vice President; leaders of faculties and relevant departments; faculty members serving on the thesis defence committees; and 647 Cohort K9 students participating in the first defence session of 2025.

Authorized by the President, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Diep delivered opening remarks, congratulating and encouraging the K9 students defending their theses. She emphasized that the graduation thesis represents a scientific product integrating theory and practice, as well as the knowledge and skills acquired over nearly four years of study. She highlighted that this achievement reflects the efforts of the students, the dedicated guidance of lecturers, support from on-site supervisors during internships, and encouragement from families.

Dr. Diep expressed her confidence that the defence results would be the most valuable gift the students could offer to their families, the university, and their teachers. She encouraged them to remain calm, confident, and determined to present their work successfully before the committees. She also thanked partner institutions—including banks, enterprises, and state management agencies—for their cooperation in facilitating the students’ achievements.

Representing Cohort K9, Luong Thi Diem Quynh from class QM9B expressed her gratitude to the university, faculty members, and internship hosts for providing the best conditions to complete coursework and gain valuable, practical experience during the graduation internship—an important foundation for their future careers. She pledged to defend her thesis with composure and confidence, achieving the best possible results as a way to show appreciation to the lecturers, the university, and the internship organizations.

This round of thesis defences involved 647 students from the following faculties:

  • Finance – Banking: 104 students, 4 subcommittees
  • Business Administration: 142 students, 3 subcommittees
  • Economics & International Business: 53 students, 2 subcommittees
  • Accounting – Auditing: 348 students, 10 subcommittees

In total, 19 subcommittees conducted the defences, held over four days: February 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2025.

During the defence sessions, students presented their topics before the academic councils and responded to critical feedback. According to the councils’ evaluations, the topics and quality of the theses were closely aligned with real-world practice and met the standards required for a university graduation thesis.
