The 7th International Conference on “Finance – Accounting for Rapid and Sustainable Development of the Private Economy” (FASPS-7)

On September 26, 2025, UFBA, in collaboration with the Academy of Finance, the University of Greenwich, the University of Finance – Marketing, the University of Finance – Accounting, the Academy of Policy and Development, and the Institute of Financial Strategy and Policy, successfully organized the 7th International Conference on “Finance – Accounting for Rapid and Sustainable Development of the Private Economy” (FASPS-7). The conference was held in a hybrid format (both in-person and online), allowing participation from domestic and international scholars, experts, and business leaders.

Overview of the 7th International Conference on “Finance – Accounting for Rapid and Sustainable Development of the Private Economy”

The conference was chaired by Distinguished Teacher. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance and Director of the Academy of Finance. Also attending were Dr. Nguyen Van Binh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Academy Council; Dr. Le Tuan Hiep, Chairman of UFBA Council of; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Rector of the University of Finance – Marketing (online); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Nguyen, Director, and Dr. Nguyen The Hung, Deputy Director of the Academy of Policy and Development; Dr. Pham Sy Hung, Rector, and Dr. Bui Thi Yen Linh, Vice Rector of the University of Finance – Accounting (online); and Dr. Nguyen Nhu Quynh, Director of the Institute of Financial Strategy and Policy (online).

International participants included Prof. Prakarsh Singh (Plaksha University, India), Assoc. Prof. Kanitsorn Terdpaopong (Rangsit University, Thailand), and Dr. Joo-Hee Park, President of Sahmyook University (online), along with many domestic and international scholars, experts, and business representatives.

The conference featured two plenary sessions and six thematic panels, focusing on major issues such as:

  • Financial and accounting policies supporting private-sector development; human resources and business environment promoting private economy; perspectives and awareness on private-sector roles.
  • Economic management, public finance reform, administrative and governance reform for private-sector growth; conditions, solutions, and orientations for sustainable development.
  • The role and contribution of the private economy to Vietnam’s growth; private-sector development amid industrial revolution 4.0 and free trade agreements; the role of the State and other related issues.
  • New economic models such as the sharing economy, digital economy, nighttime economy, and circular economy.

Distinguished Teacher. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung and Dr. Nguyen Van Binh, on behalf of the Academy of Finance – the leading organizer of the conference – presenting the Academy’s commemorative plaques and flowers to the keynote speakers and representatives of the co-organizing institutions.

The event served as an academic forum for researchers, policymakers, and business leaders to exchange and share insights on finance and accounting toward the goal of fostering rapid and sustainable private-sector development.

The Organizing Committee received 180 research papers, of which 169 high-quality papers were selected for publication in the conference proceedings.
These papers showcased diverse research methods, rich perspectives, and in-depth analyses of financial and accounting issues related to private-sector growth.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Le Tuan Hiep, Chairman of UBFA, speaking on behalf of the Organizing Committee, highly appreciated the close coordination among the co-organizing universities, the member institutions of the Finance and Accounting Education Club, the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges, and the valuable contributions of scholars and experts who actively supported the success of the conference.

Dr. Hiep emphasized that with 30 presentations delivered across six thematic sessions and two keynote speeches, the conference generated over 100 questions and discussions, both online and in person, engaging scientists and experts from Vietnam and abroad. The event attracted around 400 in-person participants and over 1,000 online attendees. He noted that the nine award-winning papers demonstrated solid scientific methodology, in-depth analysis, and originality that inspires future research directions. “The Organizing Committee firmly believes that the FASPS-7 Conference represents a significant scientific event contributing to the creation of research products on par with regional and international standards, while fostering an expanding network of scholars in finance, accounting, economics, and business amid global integration,” Dr. Hiep remarked.

Building on the success of previous conferences, the 7th International Conference on “Finance – Accounting for Rapid and Sustainable Development of the Private Economy” (FASPS-7) once again served as an annual international academic forum that brought together domestic and international scholars to share their research insights on the role of finance and accounting in promoting private-sector development. At the conference, authors and participants presented in-depth analyses, evaluations, and discussions, identifying barriers, opportunities, and challenges, while proposing policy recommendations and practical solutions to foster the rapid and sustainable growth of the private economy in the coming years.
