University of Finance and Business Administration Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary (1965–2025)

On May 16, 2025, the University of Finance and Business Administration (UFBA) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th founding anniversary (1965–2025).

Attending the prestigious event were: Mr. Tran Nam Trung – Deputy Director General, Department of Financial Planning, Ministry of Finance; Ms. Ta Thi Thanh Thuy – Deputy Director General, Department of Personnel Organization, Ministry of Finance; Mr. Pham Thai Son – Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Van Lam District Party Committee; Dr. Nguyen Nhu Quynh – Director, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Finance and Economics; Dr. Nguyen Van Binh – Chairman of the University Council, Academy of Finance; along with delegations from central and local ministries, agencies, organizations; representatives from universities, colleges, high schools; and delegations from enterprises, companies, and associations.

Representing the University were: Distinguished Teacher. Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – Party Secretary, UFBA President; Dr. Le Tuan Hiep – Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of UFBA Council; members of the Party Committee, the University Council, the Board of Management, the Trade Union, the Youth Union, the Student Association; heads of faculties, departments, and centers; former rectors and vice rectors of the University from different periods; along with a large number of lecturers, alumni, and current students.

On this occasion, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang sent a congratulatory letter praising generations of UFBA staff, lecturers, and students who have overcome difficulties and successfully fulfilled their mission over the past six decades.

Marking 60 years of history, each milestone of the University reflects a proud achievement, each stage a new step toward greater strength. To look back on this journey, Distinguished Teacher. Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia – Party Secretary, UFBA President delivered the keynote speech on the 60th anniversary of UFBA.

He emphasized that today’s UFBA, originally established in 1965 as institutions under the Ministry of Finance and the State Committee on Pricing, has excelled in training financial and accounting professionals. To date, the University has educated more than 80,000 finance and economics graduates, contributing to the country’s industrialization, modernization, and international integration. The University has also successfully engaged in international cooperation with countries such as South Korea and Belgium, as well as training financial cadres for Laos and Cambodia.

With these remarkable achievements, UFBA has been honored with many high distinctions from the Party and the State. Generations of staff, lecturers, and students have united in determination, overcoming hardships to ensure continuous progress and contribute significantly to the construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Bui Van Can – Former Rector of the Semi-public College of Business Administration (1998–2005) and the College of Finance and Business Administration (2006–2010), represented former staff and expressed pride in having worked and taught at UFBA.

On behalf of the University’s alumni, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luong – Former Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, expressed his deep pride in having studied at UFBA. Over the past 60 years, nearly 80,000 alumni have graduated, becoming managers, entrepreneurs, and professionals at national and regional levels.

The 60th Anniversary Ceremony concluded successfully in a festive and emotional atmosphere.
