Collaboration Between UFBA and Northern Finance College of Laos

For many years, UFBA has been tasked by the Ministry of Finance to engage in international collaboration with the Northern Finance College of Laos under the cooperative framework between the Ministries of Finance of Vietnam and Laos. As part of this program, from December 18 to December 22, 2023, UFBA organized a professional development course for faculty and staff from the Northern Laos College of Finance, focusing on two key topics: E-commerce and Tax Management in the Context of Industry 4.0.

The course was attended by Mr. Xaysettha Xaysanith, Rector of the Northern Finance College of Laos, along with other faculty and staff. The participants highly valued the practical knowledge shared by UFBA instructors, recognizing it as particularly useful for teaching and scientific research at the college.

Experience Sharing and Review of Past Cooperation

During this period, the leaders of both institutions shared experiences in student recruitment, training, and scientific research, while reviewing the outcomes of their long-standing cooperation. Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia highlighted that, over the past 14 years, under the direct guidance of the Ministries of Finance of both countries, the two institutions have successfully fulfilled five key tasks:

1. Professional training in finance, accounting, and business administration.
2. Provision and support of learning materials.
3. Support with facilities and resources.
4. Vietnamese language training for select faculty and staff from the Northern Finance College of Laos.
5. Knowledge exchange in management and scientific research.

The achievements have earned UFBA and its staff commendations from the Government and Ministry of Finance of Laos. On behalf of his delegation, Mr. Xaysettha Xaysanith expressed deep appreciation for the support and assistance provided by UFBA and the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam. He emphasized the importance of continued, long-term collaboration between the two institutions.

Signing of 2024 Memorandum of Understanding

The leaders also discussed and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for 2024, focusing on areas such as organizing additional professional training courses, exchanging best practices in financial management and facility support, and reporting to the Ministries of Finance of both countries on the potential for master’s training for faculty from the Northern Finance College of Laos.

The ceremony concluded with both parties signing the memorandum, marking a significant step toward further strengthening their cooperative relationship.
